While “qNMR” is used as the general abbreviation for any quantitative NMR experiment, “qHNMR” represents the proton-specific abbreviation. This keeps NMR acronyms in line with the nomenclature of other NMR derivative techniques such as gradient selection, for example "gCOSY", and avoids confusion with heteronuclear NMR. For example, while CNMR is an accepted acronym for 13C NMR, "QHNMR" would indicate NMR spectroscopy with the non-existing Q nucleus.
